The Valle Ponti wreckage

The grand cargo of a trade ship was shipwrecked approximately 2000 years ago along the ancient coast line.

Amphorae, lead ingots, on-board tools and fascinating objects from the everyday lives of its passengers were found in perfect condition in what is known as the ‘Valle Ponti Wreckage’. It is the subject of a very important restoration and future exposition project.
