The open-air section
Just five minutes away from Comacchio, near to the Stazione Foce is the Open-Air Section of the Museo Delta Antico. Here, there is a reconstruction of the Etruscan village of Spina, brought about through an experimental archaeological project and allows visitors to see what life was like in the ancient Etruscan city.
Built entirely of wood, reeds, and clay, the residential buildings line roads and canals, and contain within them reproductions of furniture and furnishings that were typical of the period. Everything is collated in a unique, natural setting at the gates of the ‘Valli di Comacchio’ (Comacchio Lagoons) in a place where water and land meet and mix.
