Accessibility
Barrier-free access
The landscape of the city, between its bridges and canals, requires dedicated accessibility routes.
The Museo Delta Antico can be accessed by road from Via Antonio Buonafede and then Vicolo dell’Ospedale, arriving at the entrance of the museum by way of a special access ramp.
To facilitate access inside the building the museum is equipped with:
- a lift
- platforms
- ramps
Widespread Culture
Since it opened, the Museum has launched a process of continuous updating and improvement aimed at progressively eliminating obstacles and physical, sensory and cognitive barriers that might limit the full participation of people with disabilities in a cultural life.
For this reason, the Museum has been part of regional and national calls for funding that led to the drafting of inclusive features.
Among them:
- Subtitling of multimedia videos for the hearing-impaired;
- Creation of the touch-sensitive bench with captions in Braille for the visually-impaired;
- A guide in simple and easy-to-read language to overcome difficulties in communication and understanding;
- A guide in Augmentative Alternative Communication (CAA) to enhance visual aid through the use of images and symbols ensuring those with difficulties can easily access and understand the information given.
Podcast
In collaboration with “Bottega Finzioni” the Museo Delta Antico is the subject of a podcast episode called “Il bisbiglio dell’Anguilla” (The Eel’s whisper), made possible by the contribution from the “Ministero dell’Interno” (Ministry of Home Affairs) with the “Piccoli Borghi” announcement.

Due to funding from the Ministero dell’Interno (Ministry of Home Affairs), the Museo Delta Antico has an accessible app, created within the Museo Mix platform.
