The touch-sensitive bench
Museo Delta Antico
Touch the history
Being able to touch an archaeological artefact with our hand is a unique and exciting experience which brings us closer to history and to those by whom these objects have been imagined, created and used. In collaboration with the L’Unione Ciechi (Blind Union) and Ipovedenti di Ferrara (visually-impaired people of Ferrara) the touch-sensitive bench is home to 11 objects that range from the Greek-Etruscan age to the early Middle Ages.
Placed on a designated counter and secured with safety locks, the objects can be handled directly by visitors. These are not copies or reproductions, but original finds that offer a unique and evocative opportunity to learn through touch.
